Some people use their microwave ovens just to warm their meals, but others know that you can easily cook something there.

While microwave cooking requires lots of energy, it can be quite useful and convenient sometimes as well.

Here are a few ideas on what you can cook in your microwave oven.

Microwave Nachos

Arrange tortilla chips on a microwave-safe plate, add cheese and your favorite toppings, then zap it for a short time until the cheese melts. Quick nachos!

Microwave Mug Omelet

Beat eggs in a mug, add veggies, cheese, and a pinch of salt. Microwave it for a couple of minutes, and you have a simple omelet.

Microwave Risotto

Mix rice, broth, and veggies in a microwave-safe dish. Cook it in short bursts, stirring in between, until it becomes creamy and delicious.

Microwave Steamed Fish

Place seasoned fish fillets in a microwave-safe dish with a bit of water. Cover it and microwave until the fish flakes easily.

Thinly slice potatoes, toss them with a bit of oil and salt, then arrange them on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave until they turn crispy.
