Even when trying to lose some extra weight, you shouldn't be afraid of eating potatoes - they can be extremely healthy!

They aren't just very fulfilling, but they can also be pretty low in calories, especially when you bake them in your oven.

Here are some ideas on how you can cook baked potatoes and make them healthy.

Baked Potato Wedges

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Cut potatoes into wedge shapes, leaving the skin on for extra nutrients.

In a bowl, toss the wedges with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, a teaspoon of salt, and your favorite herbs (like rosemary or thyme).

Spread the wedges on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they're crispy on the outside and tender inside.

Roasted Potato Cubes

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Dice potatoes into 1-inch cubes.

Mix the cubes with 3 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper.

Spread them evenly on a baking sheet.

Roast for about 30-35 minutes, tossing occasionally, until they achieve a golden-brown color.

Herb-Roasted Whole Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Leave small potatoes whole and place them in a bowl.

Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, add chopped thyme, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.

Transfer the potatoes to a baking dish and roast for 45-50 minutes until they're tender with a crispy outer layer.

Sweet Potato Fries

Preheat your oven to 425°F. Slice sweet potatoes into thin strips.

Toss them in a bowl with 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of black pepper.

Arrange the fries on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning once, until they're crispy and caramelized.
