Roses can be quite picky flowers, so they require careful and gentle maintenance to thrive.

You can use only natural fertilizers to grow your roses, but you should know which ones are the best for these flowers.

Here are a few examples of fertilizers that roses love.

Compost

Compost is a mixture of organic materials like vegetable scraps, grass clippings, and leaves that have decomposed.

It enriches the soil with nutrients and improves its structure, promoting healthy growth of roses.

Manure

Animal manure, such as cow or horse manure, can be used as a natural fertilizer.

It contains valuable nutrients that roses need to thrive.

However, it's important to use well-aged or composted manure to avoid burning the plants with excessive nutrients.

Bone meal

Bone meal is made from ground-up animal bones and is a good source of phosphorus, which helps with root development and flower production.

It can be sprinkled around the base of rose plants to provide them with essential nutrients.

Fish emulsion

Fish emulsion is a liquid fertilizer made from fish byproducts.

It is rich in nitrogen, which promotes leaf and stem growth.

Diluted fish emulsion can be applied to roses to provide them with the nutrients they need.

Epsom salts

Epsom salts are a type of magnesium sulfate that can benefit roses.

They promote healthy foliage and can help prevent nutrient deficiencies.

A small amount of Epsom salts can be mixed into the soil or dissolved in water and used as a foliar spray.

Previously, we talked about choosing a good lawn mower.
