Survey results

According to a survey conducted by the PewResearch Center, about 97% of pet owners consider pets to be part of their family.

In addition, about half of the participants are of the opinion that their pet is the same part of the family as other relatives.

The marital status of the participants influenced the results. People who are married generally don't consider pets to be the same members of the family as everyone else. While single survey participants classify animals as part of their family.

The results of the survey were not influenced by other factors: demographics, gender, age, race, ethnicity.
