Body language can tell you a lot about how happy your cat is.

Being gentle and emotional animals, cats demonstrate their mood with their behavior.

If you see these signs, then it means that your pet friend is happy around you.

Content Purring

Purring is often associated with a happy and relaxed cat. It is a soothing sound cats produce, often in response to positive experiences or when seeking attention and affection.

Slow Blinking

When a cat engages in slow blinking or "cat kisses," it's a sign of trust and relaxation. By slowly closing and opening their eyes, they are showing that they feel comfortable and safe in their surroundings.

Playfulness and Energy

A happy cat is typically active, playful, and engaged with their environment. They may engage in chasing toys, batting at objects, or running around with bursts of energy.

Kneading and Paddling

Kneading is when a cat rhythmically pushes and massages with their front paws against a soft surface, such as a blanket or your lap. This behavior is often associated with contentment and relaxation, as it mimics the behavior of kneading their mother's belly during nursing.

Healthy Appetite

A cat that is happy and content will typically have a good appetite. They will eagerly approach their food bowl and eat without any signs of hesitation or stress.

Affectionate Behavior

Cats express happiness through affectionate behavior. They may rub against your legs, or curl up close to you.
