We use our favorite devices every day, so they collect lots of dirt and bacteria.

You can't just wash them - you need to clean them carefully, so you don't damage them, but still make sure that they are clean and safe to use.

Here are some tips for you on how to do this right.

Power off and unplug

Before cleaning any gadget, make sure it is powered off and unplugged from any power source to avoid electrical hazards or damage.

Remove dust and debris

Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the surfaces and crevices of your gadgets.

Clean the screens

For smartphones, tablets, and laptops, use a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water or an electronic-safe cleaning solution.

Gently wipe the screen in a circular motion to remove fingerprints, smudges, and dirt.

Avoid using excessive moisture that could damage the device.

Disinfecting surfaces

Use an electronic-safe disinfectant wipe or dampen a cloth with isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) and gently wipe the surfaces.

Keyboard and mouse cleaning

For desktop keyboards, turn them upside down and lightly tap to dislodge any loose debris.

For laptop keyboards, use compressed air and a cotton swab slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the keys.

For computer mice, use a microfiber cloth and a cotton swab dampened with alcohol to clean the surfaces and buttons.

Clean camera lenses

Use a microfiber cloth or lens cleaning solution specifically designed for cameras to clean camera lenses.
