The kettle gets dirty quite quickly due to scale.

In this article, we will tell you how to effectively remove plaque.

Why does scale appear in a kettle

Scale is the result of a chemical reaction of salts contained in water from heating.

They settle on the walls of the dishes and form a coating called scale.

If scale has formed, it means that the water contains calcium and magnesium, which are necessary for the human body.

How to descale a kettle

Scale can be easily removed with citric acid. Add 2 tablespoons of citric acid to a kettle of water and boil.

On the other hand, add the juice of ½ lemon.

When the water in the kettle has cooled, pour out the contents and rinse with running water.

To clean the kettle with vinegar, you need to mix 100 ml of the solution with a liter of water.

In this case, it is better to add a drop of dishwashing detergent to kill the unpleasant odor.

Mix everything thoroughly and pour the mixture into the kettle.

Then boil this mixture and leave the kettle until it cools completely.

Dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda in one liter of water and boil the mixture.

Let it sit for at least an hour, boil again and drain the water.

To remove any remaining baking soda, pour clean water into an electric kettle and boil it.

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, which means it is an alkali, not an acid.

Squeeze lemon juice or add citric acid to the kettle and add hot water. Leave for 1-2 hours, then rinse with clean water.

This method helps remove plaque and odors.
