Most people know that baking soda can be an amazing cleaning solution, but it can actually be used for other things too!

For example, it can be a pretty effective odor removal solution that can help you in many ways.

Here are a few ideas on how you can use it.

Sprinkle Baking Soda

Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the area where you want to eliminate odors.

This could be on carpets, rugs, upholstery, pet bedding, or even inside shoes.

Let it Sit

Leave the baking soda in place for an extended period to allow it to absorb and neutralize odors.

Ideally, you can leave it overnight or for several hours to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Vacuum or Wipe

After the baking soda has had time to work, vacuum the treated area thoroughly if you applied it to carpets or upholstery.

For non-carpeted surfaces or smaller items, you can wipe away the baking soda using a clean cloth.

Repeat as Needed

If the odor persists, you can repeat the process as needed until you achieve the desired results.

Baking soda is safe and non-toxic, so you can use it regularly without worry.

Use in Refrigerators

Place an open box of baking soda in your refrigerator to help absorb and neutralize unwanted food odors.

Replace the box every few months for continued freshness.

Deodorize Trash Bins

Sprinkle baking soda at the bottom of your trash bins to prevent unpleasant smells.

This is especially useful in kitchen and bathroom bins.

Freshen Shoes

Eliminate shoe odors by sprinkling baking soda directly into the shoes.

Let it sit overnight, then shake or brush out the excess before wearing them.

Deodorize Pet Areas

If you have pets, sprinkle baking soda on pet bedding, carpets, or any areas where they spend time.

It helps neutralize pet odors effectively.

Neutralize Smoke Odors

To combat smoke odors in a room or on fabrics, sprinkle baking soda and let it sit.

Vacuum or wipe it away after a few hours.

Previously, we talked about washing bed linen.
