Stained wood furniture looks amazing, and it can last for a long time, but you should take good care of it.

While stained wood is usually sealed and protected from sun and water, this wax or polish can be easily damaged if you're not careful enough.

Here are a few tips on how to keep the furniture pretty for years.

Dust regularly

Use a soft, dry cloth or a microfiber duster to remove dust from the surface of your stained wood furniture on a regular basis.

This prevents the dust from settling and scratching the wood.

Clean spills immediately

If any spills occur on your stained wood furniture, clean them up promptly.

Use a slightly damp cloth or sponge to gently blot the spill, being careful not to rub it vigorously, which can damage the stain.

Avoid harsh cleaning agents

When cleaning your stained wood furniture, avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can strip the stain or cause damage.

Instead, use a mild soap or wood cleaner specifically designed for stained wood.

Be gentle when cleaning

When wiping the furniture, use gentle, circular motions. This helps to prevent streaks or uneven cleaning.

Avoid applying excessive pressure, as it can scrape or mar the surface.

Protect from direct sunlight

Place your stained wood furniture away from direct sunlight or use curtains, blinds, or window film to protect it.

Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the wood to fade or discolor.

Avoid extreme temperature and humidity changes

Wood can expand or contract with changes in temperature and humidity, potentially leading to cracks or warping.

Keep your stained wood furniture in an environment with stable temperature and humidity levels.

Apply furniture wax or polish

If desired, you can apply furniture wax or polish specifically designed for stained wood.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application techniques and frequency.
