If you have to clean really old, dirty tiles, then it might feel like you['re free to use anything, because they are already damaged.

Meanwhile, if you clean them carefully and leave no scratches, you can make them look new again!

Here are a few tips on how to achieve that.

Gather supplies

Get a bucket, warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge or cloth.

Avoid using abrasive cleaners or rough scrub brushes, as they can damage the tiles.

Prepare the cleaning solution

Fill the bucket with warm water and add a small amount of mild dish soap.

Mix it gently to create a soapy solution. Avoid using too much soap, as it can leave a residue.

Test in a small area

Before cleaning the entire surface, test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the tiles.

This helps ensure that it doesn't cause any adverse effects.

Start scrubbing

Dip the sponge or cloth into the soapy water and wring out any excess moisture.

Gently scrub the tiles in a circular motion, focusing on the dirty areas.

Apply light pressure to avoid scratching.

Pay attention to grout lines

If the grout lines are also dirty, use an old toothbrush or a grout brush to clean them.

Apply the soapy solution and scrub gently to remove dirt and stains.

Rinse the tiles

After scrubbing, rinse the tiles thoroughly with clean water. This helps remove any soap residue.

You can use a clean sponge or cloth dampened with water to wipe away the soap.

Dry the tiles

Use a dry, lint-free cloth or towel to dry the tiles completely.

This helps prevent water spots and keeps the tiles looking shiny.

Maintain regular cleaning

To keep your tiles in good condition, clean them regularly using the same gentle cleaning method.

Regular maintenance prevents dirt buildup and makes future cleaning easier.
