House remodeling and makeovers can be quite dirty, especially when paper and glue are involved.

If you want to change wallpapers in your room, then you should be ready to clean it properly afterwards.

Or, you can use some of our tips to minimize waste and dirt.

Prepare the Walls

Remove any old wallpaper and make sure the walls are clean and smooth.

Fill in any holes or cracks with putty and sand the walls if needed.

Measure the Walls

Measure the height and width of the walls to determine how much wallpaper you need.

This helps in buying the right amount and reduces waste.

Choose Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Opt for peel-and-stick wallpaper. It's easy to apply and remove without damaging the walls.

Plus, you won't need additional glue, minimizing waste.

Pattern Planning

If the wallpaper has a pattern, plan how it will align across the walls.

This prevents unnecessary cuts and waste. Start applying from the least visible corner or behind furniture.

Cut Precisely

Measure and cut the wallpaper strips accurately according to your wall measurements.

This reduces excess material that might otherwise go to waste.

Apply Smoothly

Carefully apply each strip, smoothing it as you go to avoid air bubbles.

This ensures a neat finish and reduces the chances of having to reapply, which could lead to waste.

Reuse Excess Wallpaper

If you have leftover wallpaper after finishing, consider using it for smaller projects or accents in other parts of your home. Get creative to minimize waste.

Proper Disposal

If you do have excess wallpaper that can't be used, dispose of it responsibly.

Check local recycling guidelines or see if there are creative ways to repurpose it.

Save Extra Rolls

If you bought extra rolls, save them in case you need to replace damaged sections in the future.

This prevents the need to buy entirely new rolls.

Enjoy Your New Look

Once the wallpaper is up, enjoy your refreshed bedroom!

Taking the time to plan and apply carefully minimizes waste and ensures a satisfying result.
