Why do seedlings wither
There are quite a few possible causes for this, but other than lack or excess water is Southern Bacterial Wilt disease.
It could be a lack of moisture. Plants begin to weaken or dry out if they do not have enough water.
You can tell that there is not enough moisture by looking at the condition of the leaves.
They hang, become lethargic, and then begin to dry out.
Another possible reason is that the neck of the plant becomes thinner under the influence of putrefactive bacteria.
Such processes occur in conditions of wet and cold soil in containers.
What to do if the leaves of seedlings wither
You can cut back on watering your plants and check to see if the drainage holes are clogged. If so, clean them.
If the drainage holes are fine but water still accumulates in the container, increase the diameter of the holes in the bottom of the container.
If there are none at all, drill them so that excess water flows into the pan.
This is important for normal moisture levels in seedlings.
If the disease has affected many plants, they need to be saved urgently.
Transplant the seedlings into another container, changing the soil, and then place them in a cool place.
