It is better to grow Pilea in a fairly wide but shallow container, since the root system is located close to the surface of the soil.

The width of the pot should preferably exceed its depth.

When transplanting, the size of the container is increased by 2-4 cm.

What does Pilea like

Pilea loves warmth, so indoor conditions are ideal for it. In summer it can be placed on the balcony or outside.

The main thing is to prevent drafts. Watering must be taken seriously; the substrate should not be allowed to dry out or become waterlogged.

How to water

Pilea Mojito is demanding when it comes to watering; it needs abundant irrigation, without stagnant water, in summer and moderate in winter. Between waterings, the soil must dry out by 3-4 cm.

Pilea is resistant to drought, but it is better not to take long breaks between waterings.

How to properly pinch a Pilea

Traditionally, pruning is carried out in early spring before the period of active growth of the plant: trim the stems to 10 cm.

You can trim the pilea at the end of October, before the dormant period.

To prevent the bush from becoming bare over time, pinch the tops of the stems once every 3 weeks, forming a lush crown.
