Kupena blooms from May to June with small tubular white flowers with a green border at the ends of the petals.
In autumn the flowers give way to dark blue round berries.
What does Kupena like
Place. Kupena is most suitable for shady or semi-shaded areas, under a tree or tall bush, where it will begin to form lush thickets.
Kupena does not like direct sunlight, under which it will develop a depressed and pale appearance, with small leaves, and will not bloom at all.
How to water
During dry periods, water the kupena; it loves moist soil, but can withstand short-term drought.
Sometimes irrigation with rain and groundwater is sufficient.
It is important not to overdo it with watering, so as not to cause rotting of the roots.
The soil in the area with the kupena should simply maintain slight moisture.
When to prune Kupena
Since Kupena multiflora requires two types of pruning, you will be trimming your plants throughout the growing season.
Pinching is most effective in early spring, before flower buds appear on the plant.
