The leaves are large, arranged in whorls of 3-5, oval-lanceolate, pointed, serrated along the edge, hairy.

The baskets are small, of 3-12 flowers, collected in corymbose inflorescences up to 20 cm in diameter.

The flowers are light pink to lilac-purple. Blooms in July-August for 30-35 days.

How to grow

The planting site for the sill can be either in a well-lit area or in partial shade, on any garden soil, even constantly moist, in a lowland.

The main thing in summer care is abundant watering; the soil at the roots should not dry out completely.

Especially if the perennial has already come into force and thrown out its umbrella brushes.

How the Eupatorium flower reproduces

Purple sapling is propagated in the spring. Dividing a bush is not an easy task.

It should be remembered that the rhizome of a three-year-old plant is dense and woody, so it can only be divided by chopping it with an ax.

An easier way to get new plants is propagation by cuttings with a “heel”.

How to feed the Eupatorium

You can feed with wood ash, compost, bone meal.

Properly selected and timely applied fertilizer stimulates the appearance of a characteristic shine on the Eupatorium: the leaves will become bright, rich in color, and the flowers will be lush and their number will increase.
