How to apply eggshells to the soil

Not ground, but broken or crushed shells with a rolling pin will provide excellent drainage for seedlings or indoor plants.

It is poured onto the bottom of the container in a layer of a couple of centimeters, and then covered with earth.

To loosen the soil, it is enough to break the shell into small pieces.

It decomposes for quite a long time, so its effectiveness remains for more than a year.

In a greenhouse, eggshells can be added both in the fall and in the spring.

Nevertheless, in open ground it is better to wait until spring.

How to make eggshell powder

For better crushing, place the baking sheet in the oven at low temperature for 10 minutes to dry out the shells.
